BIEL Light+Building Buenos Aires 2011 received 33,744
professional visitors and businessmen
The Biennial International Trade Fair for Electrical Engineering,
Electronics and Lighting positioned itself as the most important business
event for Latin America
In the 2011 edition of BIEL Light+Building Buenos Aires
participated 344 exhibitors from the following countries: Germany,
Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, China, Spain, United
States, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Pakistan, Paraguay, Poland,
Portugal, Czech Republic, Republic of Korea and Taiwan. This
implies an increase of 12% compared to 2009.
33.744 professionals and businessmen from 37 countries
visited the fair. As a reference, in 2009 took part 307 local and
international exhibitors and 32,800 professional visitors.
During the opening ceremony, Mr. Fernando Gorbarán, President
and CEO of Messe Frankfurt Argentina, gave a special thanks to:
“Fundación Export.Ar and PROARgentina for all the years of joint
work as well as the whole CADIEEL staff who has worked so hard
in the preparation of the fair and the Matchmaking Program.”
The President and CEO of Messe Frankfurt GmbH, Mr. Wolfgang
Marzin, who came specially to visit the fair, said: “Messe Frankfurt
GmbH is highly pleased with the success of BIEL as South
Americas largest showcase of this industry. You can feel the good
spirits in the air, you can see the investment in stands and in
presentations and this gives us enough reasons to expect five
brilliant days. I wish everyone great success.”
On his part, the new President of the Argentine Chamber of
Electronic, Electro mechanic, Lighting, Telecommunication,
Informatics, and Automatic Control Industries (CADIEEL), Mr.
Jorge Luis Cavanna, said about the future of the industry: “We
believe we did a lot, but we know that it is much more than what it
is left to be done. We need of all of you to go move forward. We
will have to face a lot of challenges.”
Once the opening ceremony has finished, the ribbon cutting took
place with the presence of Acc. Eduardo Faingerch,
Undersecretary of Politics and Business Management of the
Argentine Industry Department. Then, the official visit of the fair
began.
One of the most highlighted points was the 3rd International
Matchmaking Program of the Electric, Electronic and Lighting Industry,
organized by Messe Frankfurt Argentina and CADIEEL jointly with Fundación
Export.Ar and PROARgetina. 158 meetings were celebrated between 45
local companies and buyers coming from Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico,
Panama, Peru and Dominican Republic with great future perspectives.
We also pledged to professional updating as a central aspect for the
sector progress. For this reason, the 12th International Technical
Congress and the 36 exhibitors’ conferences were successfully
carried out. Simultaneously, the 5th Efficient Lighting Contest –
ELI Award 2011 and the 4th International Technical-Scientific Contest
were developed. Besides, the fair was the venue of three annual meetings:
the 2nd Annual Meeting of Electrician Installers Associations and the
8th National Meeting of Electrician Installers summoned by FAAIE; and
the National Meeting of Electric Material Distributors 2011 summoned
by CADIME.

The 13th edition of BIEL Light+Building Buenos Aires will be
carried out on September 10-14, 2013 in La Rural Trade Center.
